Words from Elder Travis Wahl in Argentina Mission

"This has been an interesting area to be in.  We have a lot of different ;people in our area.  We are always talking to people, but they aren't always talking back.  That's okay though.  We then learn who we can or can't go back to.  This week went a little better with working with members and finding our investigators.  I don't know if you remember but when I first got here I found a guy, Fernando, that I met up in San Juan. Well, we finally had our first real lesson with him and it was way good to see the interest that he has and how excited he was to learn.  We taught in the house of a member because he says his dad doesn't want us to enter the house.  Fernando is a really prepared person that knows that these things are important and really wants to learn more.  The only problem he has is that he is really hard to find and he drives to San Juan a lot on the weekends.  He is way awesome though, and it really helped out the member as well.  The member that helped us just had his son pass away two days before this lesson. I couldn't believe that he was still willing to help us teach. The Spirit that was there was incredible and the love that this member has for everyone and everything is just unbelievable.  It is quite incredible what one can learn fron simple situations.  We also learned this last weekend that an umbrella can get a family to get to church.  We have been teaching some Bolivians and they finally got excited to go to church.  Sunday came around and it was a little drizzly in the morning, but nothing bad. These people sometimes find any excuse just to stay in their house and not go to church.  We left with an umbrella and when we got to the house, they tried to tell us it was raining and they weren't going to come, but we had an umbrella and they came.  It was way funny because the moment we walked out the door, it stopped raining.

The biggest thing that I have learned fron this area is that frustration doesn't get the work done.  We have had to leave many people, but we have found a lot of awesome people and have gotten to help a lot of members.  All in all a missionary can and should one happy at the end of the day."
