Olo everybody!
Happy Veteren's Day! I know it's Wednesday, but since I can only e-mail today, I'm sayin it today. :) How grateful I am for those who serve our country! This war against evil is so real and they truly give their whole lives to fight it. Thank you to everyone for your service!
So, this week was awesome! We taught Lee 3 times and there were moments where the Spirit was so strong. She's given up her Lipton tea and her son said he'd take her to get some herbal tea. It's amazing how after 60+ years of drinking it she can give it up! She also told us that she's been praying with her granddaughter and now her granddaughter is starting to pray as well. So cool! Please keep her in your prayers that nothing will stop her from getting baptized in 2 weeks. We're worried about her health, cuz it keeps getting worse. But, I know God will strengthen her as she continues down this path!

Funny story from this week: we were on exchanges and tracting and I've been sick with a cold this week. We knocked on a door and a very sweet lady immediately let us in. As we were talking to her, I all of a sudden got a bad itch in my throat and just started hacking! It was so embarrassing! She gave me some water and just felt so bad for me. But, right before my coughing fit, she had told us she wasn't interested. Then, after the coughing fit was over, she told us she and her husband actually would be interested in learning more! Haha. #Godworksinmysteriousways. Sadly, she's gone for like the next 2 months so we won't be able to meet with her till after the new year. But, God is good and I'm sure something will happen with her!
Well, I wanted to tell you all something I've been thinking about a lot. This week we had some run-ins with horror films at members and less-active's homes. I realized how awful those films are! They just killed the spirit the minute we walked in the homes. I used to think that scary movies weren't all that bad because they're "not real." But, after this week, I'm convinced that they DO have a huge impact on us. Both my companion and I felt the Spirit completely gone and as we taught, it was really hard to get it back. This war with Satan is real and if we're going to fight it, we cannot be filling our minds with junk from movies like that! I'm sure some of ya are laughing and thinking "just wait till you get home and normalize." Honestly, I'm terrified to come home! If that's the kind of crap I'm going to come home too, I never want to come back. Ever. To have the Spirit with us all the time, and then to not have it at all because of bad media like that is so scary. This world is too evil by itself without us allowing it to come into our homes through the media. I know that's probably a bit too bold, but I can't describe to you how scared we were this week from those experiences. Maybe I'm a bit too extreme about it, but I hope not.

I memorized a quote this week that I want to share with you. It's by Parley P. Pratt. "I have desired, after travelling for 25 or 26 years, mostly abroad, to stay at home and minister among the people of God, and take care of my family; but God's will be done and not mine. If it is the will of God that I should spend my days in proclaiming this Gospel and bearing testimony of these things, I shall think myself highly privileged and honored. And when the Spirit of God is upon me, I think it matters very little what I suffer, what I sacrificed - whether I secure the honor or dishonor of men, or where I die, if it so be that I can keep the faith, fight the good fight, and finish my course with joy. I have all eternity before me, in which to enjoy myself." This quote has changed my life. We have all eternity to enjoy ourselves, IF we choose to fight the good fight, keep the faith, and finish this course of life with joy. If we're not going to be apart of God's work, if we're not going to be "up to our eyeballs in the gospel," (to quote Elder Holland), then we won't have eternity in which to enjoy ourselves. This life is our chance. We cannot afford to waste away our time being a part of the world because it's "fun". Please make every day count! I've realized so much on my mission that we cannot recycle wasted time. We never get that time back.
Well, there's my rants for the week!!! haha. Thanks for putting up with me and supporting me! I love you all and hope you have an amazing, missionary-filled week!
