"How has your thanksgiving been? Good! Mine was great. Lots of fun stuff
in the YSA life. So let's start with the week.
Monday...
Ok so pday we had a great day of relaxing and enjoying company and
games. We were at the institute building all day and it was great.
Elder Springer and I are in the same zone again so we had a ball. I
won at Munchkin. Then we played a new game sorenson has called Killer
Bunnies. It is really weird but it is super fun. We basically did that
all day then had a dinner appointment with Madelyn and Bethany. They
are the ones who sent you a picture. If you want to know what Bethany
looks like go to the Gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet and on like page
12 with the people taking the sacrament she is the younger girl in the
back row next to the left edge of the page. They were so fun to!
Tuesday...
We spent almost all day at the temple putting up Christmas lights. I
had a life or death battle with the 3 1/2 pine trees I had to put
lights on. The only thing is the trees were super like dry and sharp.
I looked like I had hives when I was done. But it was good. My trees
look great! We dropped off a few copies of the BOM to people who
we are teaching. None were home so it was like mail delivery. We had
dinner with Ryan and Jason. Ryan is the elders quorum pres and Jason
is the WML. We ate at Bobbys Burger Palace. So good!! We had a great
night just laughing and all. I loved it.
Wednesday...
Temple day! We had a great time spending most of the day in the
temple. I love going there! It gets better every time I go! But the
weird thing... Wait for it.. Wait for it.. It snowed! AHHHH! Snow is
cold! And people here just do not know how to drive as it is, then with
snow it gets worse. I miss AZ drivers. We had our dinner with Ryan
again and we went to Ledos pizza. O my goodness! So good! We had bacon and pepperoni with a little crust and sauce. Divine! We had
an appointment with Mike who was baptized a few weeks ago. He is great
and we are trying to get him to do baptisms for the dead. He is excited to. He was
curious and looked it up online and... Well... Ya... We needed to help
him understand some stuff. But he is all better now and is super
solid.
Thursday...
Since it was thanksgiving we had a no proselyting day. We had a pday
basically. So we had fun cleaning a little (not really) then we played
board games again at the institute building. I beat Ryan at risk to :)
and sorenson. We had dinner with Bishop Gish who is great! Super weird
and different but so nice. He had a super healthy dinner though! All
fresh, even the turkey he killed the day before, and nothing added. He
just cooked the turkey as is and it was real good. Then all the other
stuff was healthier and light but I ate enough to counter it ;) we had
a good evening talking and sharing stories and life experiences. We
watched bishops video of him sky diving. When he turned 60. It was
interesting. Good day though.
Friday...
Today was a lot of sitting and sitting. We had weekly planning and we
drove to the bottom of our area. We used 215 miles to go check on
unassigned people who were not home. But we confirmed addresses and
left a note. So fun times. I got to drive and I have to say I missed
it. I almost hit a deer at night too, But I did not. Haha
Saturday...
We had meetings all morning about the new "He is the Gift" initiative
the church has. They are going all out. Buying multiple billboards in
Times Square, buying the YouTube big ad for a day, and tons of other
stuff. Lots of $ so share it with friends! Then we met with Jason to
plan out how to engage the Ward more. We had a chance to teach a few
recent converts and les actives who are all great. The YSA Ward is so
nice! We also had cafe rio for dinner! I loved it! I ate and enjoyed
and wished I had more! But I can go back so I will!
Sunday...
I had my second baptism ever, 1st on mission, but not a convert
baptism. We baptized 8yr old Annija who is Annita's daughter. We
totally reactivated her family and they are the most involved family
in our area I would say. They try so hard and are just great. It was
an amazing experience and I loved seeing how much love Annita has for
this gospel and our savior. Annija is doing so good! She even brought
friends! Nice to see some DC people again. Then we checked on people
and had a great lesson with Jemina who is from Peru. Her parents
joined us as well. I decided I want to join the spanish program. The
people are so kind, humble, and just the bomb! They also feed us all
the time to! I want spanish program! Haha.
Today...
I splurged. I bought two swords. I will send a picture. I became great
friends with Mimi who was the lady at the store. She sold me the
swords for a lot cheaper! Hahahah. I am so excited. I also have all
Christmas gifts and will be sending them. Do not open the box until
Christmas. Ok? Well thank you all for all you do! I love you!"
