Words from Elder Kyle James in Germany

 

"Well this week has been great! I guess the only way to start, is to... start.

Montag---- So ja. We went to Köln again. We went to like 6 Christmas markets. It is so amazing!! Oh my gosh... they are beautiful! I cant even describe it! I wish you guys could see it. I wish I could send my videos too. I do want to send a Christmas package. It will be way late though. Keep reminding me to do it. I hope Bruder Richins writes me a letter. He is way cool. And he promised me to take me ice fishing. Anyway, when we got back, Elder Clement started packing... hehe. He kept saying that he would help me clean... but noooo.

Dienstag- Just packing and cleaning. We also met with SKy and sister Krengel.

Mittwoch!! So we, I, finished cleaning the clement messes and what not. Then we went to Düsseldorf HBH. I met the other Elder from our zone that is training. TURNS OUT... HE WAS THE ELDER THAT AUSTIN DAVIS HELPED ONTO A MISSION! WOW CRAZY! The only two Elders training from our whole zone... and we both know Austin Davis haha. Haha so him and I took a bus down to Frankfurt. We got to the mission home at like 7. We met the other Trainers. They were all a lot older than me. Scary! Jk. We had a trainers meeting and then had pizza. Then we were brought to the Hotel. At the hotel, I met a trainer, who used to go on vacation with the Overson family. He knows Hailey and Clayton pretty well apparently.  Haha SMALL WORLD! GOSH! I went into a room, and a golden asked me a lot of questions. He was worried about German. Haha reminds me of myself.

Donnerstag- Great day. We ate breakfast and then went to the pairing meeting. I got a sweet comp! He is from Switzerland and cant speak the best English. My German is going to be so good. We do all of our studies in German. Er heißt Elder Bader. He turned 22 on Friday. Hahaha I get to train someone Cassie's age that is fleunt in German. Hahaha SWEET!. He is actually really cool and funny. We are already friends.  I saw Arnesen at HBH. I love that kid. I hope I get to serve with him again. He is so awesome.

We got back to Solingen and had some dinner. We planned a little, and then hit the streets. we gave out 10 cards and a Book of Mormon, found two potential investigators and made a return appointment. WOW. In only 45 minutes.

Freitag was busy. We went by on less actives, and then helped someone at the church do family history. It was sweet. And then we met with Bruder Köster! I told him that I would FOR SURE see him at church one day. I made him promise that he will come before the 21st of Dez. He shook my hand and promised me. YES!! I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE!  We really have to listen to the spirit. The spirit told me to ask him questions and tell him random facts about our ward... and he is making super fast progress. I am so excited!

Samstag! So we met with the potential we found. he was really weird. He is black and speaks ok English. I rang the doorbell and a lady answered, and In German I asked if the colored guy lived here. She laughed and slammed the door. So we walked down the stairs... and then heard a door open really fast and someone running down the stairs. Matt came stumbling down the stairs without a  shirt on. Gosh... haha where do we find these people? Well he is scared of the BOM. We also went shopping with him and he bought bier, or tried to, for us. Wow haha. We then contact the whole day. We were on the streets for 4 hours straight. My golden is super good at it already.  We gave out like 15 cards and talked with some good people. Lots of people were mean though. Hahaha oh well. we did great.

Sonntag we went to church and then had dinner with the Hanses and Paulys. I love them haha. Bischof Pauly tells us his drunk stories. He is hilarious.

Today we.... are going to Köln! I love the Christmas stuff there. Look it up! haha I will send some pictures. Last Pday... I took 230 pictures!

So yeah! Things are going great! I am having a lot of fun! I love my comp, and we are really working hard!

Well ja! I dont have much more. 

I do want to talk about pride though. My trainer had a big issue with it. Dont be prideful! Haha I know I am. I do my best though. When someone gives advice, take it. Pride is the worst, Remember that God knows more than us. Like, a lot more. Dont lean unto your own understanding. Ask God. He is always there.

Blah... I think of good spiritual thoughts, but they are too hard to write in English:(

Oh well.

I am glad that everything goes well. I want to send a lot of pictures so I will end now. I love you guys so much!

I know God lives. I know Jesus Christ died for us, to make is possible for us to live together forever. I love the gosple, because we cant find out for ourselves. Dont take anyones word for it. Pray and ask God if it is true. James 1:5
