Words from Sister Brittany Platt in Colorado

"Hello everyone! I couldn't think of anything cool for the title of this e-mail sorry. :) I hope you're all doing well and having a great week!

This last week was pretty awesome! We met with Jeff and Sarah three times to teach them all of Lesson 4: The Commandments. I can't tell you how receptive they were to everything we taught! It was truly miraculous. They loved the Law of Tithing and were excited to start paying after they're baptized! WOW!!!! Sarah told us that her uncle owns the biggest porn store in Colorado. Her mother works for him and she used to fill in for her mother, but told her she could no longer do so. Her mom is now wanting to quit!!!! SO, maybe, we can teach her uncle and shut down that porn store for good!!!!!!! Kicking Satan out of Colorado one porn store at a time, brick by brick!!!! Haha. We talked a little bit about the temple and they asked us both if we would come to their sealing since they're already planning on going in a year!!!! We were like, "Uh, of course!!!!!" It was......amazing? Miraculous? Super awesome? I can't describe to you how incredible they are! The Lord has truly been preparing them for the truth for a long time. It's more than just coincidence with everything that's happened! Then, they called us on Saturday to ask where the Deseret Bookstore was located. As they were talking to us, they were driving around the temple looking at the bldg. and the grounds!!! We didn't even tell them to go there! It was SO amazing. They came to church on Sunday for all 3 hours and loved it. The ward has really been accepting to them as well and we had one sister bring a bunch of sisters over to Sarah's house to meet her, and another sister watched Sarah's daughter while she went to the doctors. They're still planning on being baptized on February 14th, so please pray that nothing will stop that! Blessings, blessings, blessings!

We also ate dinner with Krystal, the Less-active lady from Eager whose husband is not a member. Her husband was there (we didn't think he would be), and he was super friendly, talked with us, and although he didn't come in to the living room to listen to our message, he stayed in the kitchen and we know he listened while he was in there. It was awesome! Krystal invited us back and asked us if she could come with us to appointments. Miracles!!

We had to drop one of our investigators this week, Dolores, because she just isn't progressing. But, it was really good and afterwards we went out to eat and had buffalo burgers!!! They were so delicious! When we were at the Retirement home doing popcorn, I brought some music and played and sang for the residents and staff and they all loved it and asked me to do it again next week. It was really fun for me to be able to do that! Doing service at the donkey shelter was really fun and we talked with one of the volunteers for about 20 minutes about what we do as missionaries and about the church. It was awesome! There's also a family in the ward who own alpacas (they're like mini llamas) and we got to go over on Saturday and help them halter-break some. It was super fun!

Well, there were definitely lots of miracles this week and we had a wonderful time meeting with so many people! Oh, and we got a new investigator this last week so that was awesome!

Thank you to everyone that has been praying for me for my health! I've felt so much power from God this week and felt so blessed. We only have two more weeks in the transfer and we keep begging President to let us stay together and in Strasburg for another transfer. We'll see what happens. :)

I heard a quote this week that I absolutely loved and want to share it with all of you: "I gave up something I loved for the God I loved even more, and He's never forgotten me for it." Sometimes, we get so caught up in all of the fun things in this world that we love, that it gets in the way of our relationship with God. My challenge to you this week is to break up with that thing or thing(s) that is keeping you from your full potential and from the God you love. He has so many blessings for you! All you need to do is get rid of those things, even if they seem good, that are keeping you from experience the fullness of His love. And you will be amazed at the blessings you receive. They may not be immediate, because God tests us to see if we mean it, but I promise you will receive them!

God bless you all and have a wonderful week!"
