Words from Sister Brittany Platt in Colorado

Olo everybody!

This week was a great week! We had Kirsten's baptism on Sunday and it was wonderful. She was just glowing and was so happy. She got baptized at 8:30 in the morning and was then confirmed in Sacrament at 11. I can't begin to describe to you what an experience it was. And so many people came from the ward. It was such a blessing! Right after Kirsten came up out of the water she exclaimed "I did it!" Then she turned to Elder Hollingsworth and said "Is that it?" He chuckled and said yes, and then she said "Can I have a hug now?" It was so cute and her enthusiasm for life is just contagious! The whole ward already loves her. And what's even more cute is a member of our ward asked her out on a date later that night! His name is Brother Schmidt and he's a returning less-active who's been coming regularly to church the last 2 months. He's single and a very nice man! He spoke on baptism at Kirsten's baptism, and even though he was so nervous, he did a great job. Kirsten was so excited about him asking her out that she was as giddy as a 16-year old girl! We were just as excited for her, and then proceeded to tell her to make sure she didn't hold hands or kiss on the first date. Haha. She laughed and was like "what are you girls, my mothers?" We laughed and said yes we were and she better listen!! :) She is one of the most amazing people I've met in my life and I feel so humble and grateful to be apart of her life at this time! One other miracle with her is that she told us her two sons (who are at college in Kansas) found some elders and are now taking the missionary discussions! I couldn't believe it when she told us! It was so exciting. She's also preparing her husband's name to take to the temple to get his baptism done, and we're hoping to go next week!

Well, that's all I have time for! I hope all of you have a wonderful week and God bless you!

Love, Sister Platt
