Words from Sister Kortlynn Herring in Japan

"Hello! Sorry this weeks email will be short as today was temple pday,
but it was a fabulous week! So, the coolest thing was probably the
fact that I got to contact Sei again, shi San. I don't know if you
remember her, but last year in Okegawa she was my investigator, and my
best friend. We got along really well, and then I transferred and she
got busy and stopped meeting with the missionaries. Well, she
graduated from college and moved to Tokyo for her job. Well, I
transferred to Tokyo! I contacted her, and she lives close by! She
actually technically lives in the south mission border, but it's just
over the river and super close, and she works just outside my area in
the Shibuya area. Anywho, we are actually meeting this evening! I'm
so excited to see her again! And maybe, a year later, she will be
ready to progress! I'm so excited! So we have that today.

This week we were able to meet with Yoshida San, and she is still
rocking it. I got a picture of her when she was a pro wrestler, and I
will send it! She is a bit smaller now, not so muscley, but she is
still the same! I love her so so much! Let's see, we also got to
meet with this cute, recently baptized 10 year old and his slightly
active/ less active family. We told them the story of Ammon and how
cool he is, what made him cool, how he always served and what not.
It was cool because, in my limited Japanese, I was able to tell the
story pretty well and he was super into it. It was fun. Then, since
it was like fhe, we had to, of course, play hot potato. I love teaching
Japanese people my families games. They loved it!

So yes, the work is still progressing, missions are amazing, and I
love it! Japan is full of the nicest people ever! For example, we
were at a shrine today and this man walks by us, and decides to take
it upon himself to give us the low down on the shrine. So he
explained in his awesome English/Japanese about the history and where
to buy cheap Japanese treats. He then told us to go look at a koi
pond that was close by, then he said good bye. Well, on our way to
the koi pond, we stopped to take pictures and the man comes back, this
time holding 2 cans of this yummy peach juice! Then he again bids
farewell! So awesome! That has not been the only time something has
happened like that. What's even better is that he actually knows the
missionaries and has been to eikaiwa! So cool!

And one last cool miracle story, I got to see my dearest most
wonderful Ellingson Shimai at the temple today! (MTC Companion that is in the South Mission) We had the same temple pday! I have only been hoping for this to happen my entire
mission, and on my last temple pday it happened! I was so happy, and
while we were talking, there was an earthquake, so not only did I get
to see her at the temple, but got to experience an earthquake with
her! So cool! Haha! Just a little moment, where I felt that
Heavenly Father was aware of his missionary, and He even pays
attention to the littlest details, that bring us so much joy!

Well, this week, as you can see was again awesome! Missions are the
best! I see miracles everyday and am just blown away by the love of
Heavenly Father all around me! Keep being the wonderful people that I
call family!"
